Vikram’s Inkokkadu has hit the theaters across the world on Thursday. Inkokkadu is written and directed by Anand Shankar of Arima Nambi fame. Vikram has paired up with Nayanthara and Nithya Menen in the film.
Story:
Love (Vikram), who is psychotic and looks like a transgender, is the most violent criminal in Malaysia and the entire police department are searching for his whereabouts.
The Malaysian police could not get any idea about Love but they got to know that Love is arch nemesis to an intelligent office Akhilan (Vikram) and he can tackle this case. They ask Akhilan to take up the case and crack a mysterious deadly blast on Indian Embassy.
What is the connection between Akhilan and Love? Will Akhilan solve this case? to find out the reasons watch the film on big screen.
Performances:
It is once again a Vikram show all the way and he lives up it. He essays the dual role with aplomb. Vikram definitely needs genuine applause for accepting the role of Love and it will remembered for years. Nayanthara, who plays the role of Halena, provides glamour and does a decent job.
Nithya Menen plays the role of a RAW agent Aarushi who assists the good Vikram in his mission. She does her part with grace but her role does not require much to do and it gets overshadowed by Vikram's performance. Others including Nassar, Thambi Ramaiah, Bala, Karunakaran and Riythvika have performed accordingly.
Technical:
Inkokkadu is very high on technically. Harris Jayaraj's background score blended perfectly with the scenes but songs hardly make an impression.Cinematography is one of the major highlights of the film.
Visulas are stunning and they are definitely an eye feast for the viewers. Editing could have been crisp. Production values and VFX is top notch. Had the director Anand taken much care on the second half, the output of the film could have been far better.
Plus Points: Vikram, Background score, Interval episode, Cinematography
Minus Points: Predictable plot, second half, Songs, Comedy
Analysis:
International espionage is the main theme of Inkokkadu and this genre is completely new to the Telugu audience. The concept of this film may not be easily grapsed by the frontbenchers. Whenever Love comes on screen, the film looks entirely different.
The twists and turns where the good Vikram finds hard to keep up with bad Vikram have come out very well. Screenplay takes a severe beating in many areas and the audience do not get attached to film emotionally.
Vikram is undoubtedly one of the biggest assets of the film and he never dropped the intensity while enacting the role of Love. Vikram's action, some scenes in first half, the twist before the interval block and quality visuals captured by the cinematographer are some of the major highlights of the film.Comedy is a big let down in the film.
Weak second half, predictable plot and lack of emotional connect are basic drawbacks. Inkokkadu may disappoint the audience who loves to watch the masala stuff and others can give a shot.
