Post the stupendous success of ‘Bichagadu’, Vijay Anthony’s films became hot properties in Tollywood. All his films started to raise the expectations and his upcoming flick ‘Yaman’, a political thriller has Vijay playing the dual role. With the film’s release getting near, we’ve got an exclusive interview of Vijay Anthony himself. Have a look of what he said.
Tell us about ‘Yaman’?
‘Yaman’ is the journey of a common man who grows to the level of minister which involves a lot of twists and turns. It is a complete political thriller which has all the ingredients every hard hitting film has. The story is completely fictional.
Did you showcase the current political scenario in Tamil Nadu in ‘Yaman’?
Not at all! As said earlier, this film is completely fictional. Moreover, this film happens 5 years back and no issues related to Tamil Nadu politics were shown.
What was the reason behind keeping the film’s title as ‘Yaman’?
‘Yaman’ means Yamudu in Telugu. In this film, I play a character who is a nightmare to all the evil and crooked politicians. We went ahead with ‘Yaman’ as it suited both the languages and it also raised the curiosity factor over the film.
Which according to you is easier, acting or music composition?
Personally, acting is a bit easier compared to any other technical job. You get glory and fame easily when you are a star. I am enjoying my success and happy to get loved by many.
What was the reason behind the failure of ‘Bethaludu’?
The entire second half went completely wrong and we knew it before in hand. After a gripping first half, the audience formed an opinion that there would be a strong story in the latter half but the story was not that strong enough and collapsed in the end. Though it disappointed in Telugu, the first week collections were good in Tamil and landed the distributors in profits.
How do you pick your stories?
For me, story is the first priority and everything falls next. I don’t mind doing back-to-back love stories or thrillers if the script interests me. It all depends on the way how a director narrates the film. If the screenplay is tight, then the rest will fall in place.
How difficult is production according to you?
I came to know how difficult film production is after producing few films. I suggest every hero to produce at least one film to know what hardships a producer faces. He works hard day and night from the time the film goes on floors to make his film pass with flying colors.
