Tamil Nadu Government will pass a GO making computerised ticketing mandatory for all movie theatres in Tamil Nadu from June 1st. This is to bring transparency to BO revenue and for Tax collection. TFPC Office-bearers are going to update all their members about the decisions made at today's Government meeting. Tamil Film Producers Council has called for a special meeting at 5:30 PM this evening where the leadership team will update the members about the agreement reached yesterday.
The producers are expecting that the resuming new releases (most likely Fri - Apr 20th) will happen along with the commencement of the shoots. TFPC has already formed a committee which is looking into release regulation. Movies, depending on their censor date will be allowed to release in the chronological order. Three films (1 Big and two med/small) movies expected to release every Friday.
About the same, Vishal said, "Flexible Ticket Pricing will be introduced for different budget movies. Ticket prices will be affordable to the public. From June 1st, #TFPC will introduce an online ticketing portal with a reduced booking charge."
An announcement about strike withdrawal and commencement of shoot will be made today afternoon.
