Rajamouli’s magnum opus 'Baahubali' created a sensation at the box office and started a new era in Indian cinema. Seeing the worldwide acclaim from all over the world, the digital media giant Netflix announced a web series.
The web series is going to be a prequel for 'Baahubali: The Beginning'. Titled ‘The Rise of Sivagami’, the web series is based on Anand Neelakantan’s book. Instead of dealing with Baahubali and Bhallaladeva, the story revolves around the life and history of Sivagami. Young and talented directors Praveen Sattaru and Deva Katta are helming this web series. The makers are getting ready to invest a massive budget. Television actress Mrunal Thakur who is also playing the lead against Hrithik in 'Super 30' is roped in to play the title role. The directors felt that Mrunal has the ability to reprise Sivagami and essay the powerful role.
Mrunal has been extremely happy for the offer and immediately gave her nod. Special sets are being erected in Ramoji Film City for the shooting. Netflix is planning to release the web series in 90 foreign languages. Atul Kulkarni and Rahul Bose are playing other vital roles in 'The Rise of Sivagami'.
