'Gabbar Singh' director Harish Shankar's previous outing 'Duvvada Jagannadham' ended up as a debacle at the box office. Now the director is trying to test his luck with the remake.
It is known that Harish Shankar is all set to remake Tamil movie 'Jigarthanda' in Telugu. Siddharth and Bobby Simha played the lead roles in the Tamil version. Harish Shankar has already roped in Mega Hero Varun Tej to reprise Bobby Simha's role in the film. Interestingly, Varun Tej is going to try a negative role for the first time. On the other hand, Harish Shankar is currently in search of another actor to play Siddharth's role in the movie. If the buzz is to be believed, then the director is planning to get young heroes like Raj Tarun or Naga Shourya on board to play the role. Also, the happening beauty Rashmika Mandanna is being considered as the female lead in the movie.
Ram and Gopi Achanta are bankrolling this project. The shooting of the movie will go on sets as soon as the director completes the casting works. We have to wait and see if the remake of Tamil movie succeeds in impressing the Telugu audience or not.
