opular writer Deena Raj, who had scripted blockbuster love stories such as Preminchukundam Raa and Kalisundam Raa, is making his debut as a director with a patriotic drama titled Bharateeyans. The film has Nirroze Putcha, Sonam Thendup, Subha Ranjan and Mahender Bargas as heroes, while Samaira Sandhu, Rajeswari Chakraborty and Peden Ongmu Namgyal are the leading ladies. Dr. Shankar Naidu Adusumilli has produced the movie under Bharat American Creations banner.
Veteran politician and former Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu watched Bharateeyans in a special preview at Prasad Labs on Sunday morning. He congratulated the team and urged everyone to support the film. "I congratulate Bharateeyans' director and producer for delivering the message of national integrity and the valour of the Indian Army with a movie that's filled with patriotism. I urge the youth of the nation to watch the movie and support it," Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said.
Telugu Director's Association President and senior actor-director Kasi Viswanath said that Venkaiah Naidu is one of the greatest leaders in the country. "I had watched the movie already, but came to watch it again with Venkaiah Naidu garu. He always supports the movies that help to better our society and country. He is happy with the movie. Movies like this are made only if the directors and producers are patriotic. Shankar garu has trusted his friend Deena Raj garu and made this film. I urge all the movie lovers to watch the film," he added.
Producer Dr. Shankar Naidu Adusumilli thanked M Venkaiah Naidu for gracing the special premiere and wishing Bharateeyans team. "His words of appreciation mean a lot to our team. I believe that every Indian is a real hero and every woman is a Mother of India. We attempted to portray the philosophy of every Indian in the movie. We toiled for 2 years and made this film with a lot of passion. All the actors have performed quite well. Bharateeyans is a pan-Indian film and we're releasing it in May in all major languages," he added.
The film's director Deena Raj has thanked M Venkaiah Naidu for catering his time to watch the film despite his busy schedule. "His appreciation has given us a lot of confidence. After working as a writer on the hits like Lahiri Lahiri Lahiri Lo, Preminchukundam Raa and Kalisundam Raa, Bharateeyans is my debut as a director. I wanted to debut with a patriotic drama. Shankar garu is a doctor in the USA and is patriotic at heart. He loved my script and came forward to produce it. The film will awaken patriotism among every Indian. I urge all the Indians to watch the movie with their families," he said.
Hero Nirroze thanked his director and producer for giving him the opportunity to debut with Bharateeyans. "I was selected after auditioning for the film. We shot the entire movie outdoors. Deena Raj garu has done a wonderful job as a director," Nirroze said.
Heroine Samaira Sandhu said that this is her first film in Telugu. "This is my third film as a heroine. I'm a Punjabi and I played a Punjabi even in the movie. I feel fortunate to have acted in a patriotic movie like Bharateeyans," she said.
