Maari the latest Tamil flick starring Dhanush who has earned immense following ever since his first movie. Kajal Agarwal appeared in the female opposite role in this movie. Dhanush known for his impressive acting skills is seen in a mass role in Maari.
Maari is an action comedy film written & directed by Balaji Mohan. The film is produced by Listin Stephen and Raadhika Sarathkumar under the banner of Magic Frames and co produced by Dhanush himself under the banner Wunderbar Films. Anirudh Ravichander composed the film’s soundtrack and score while Om Prakash contributed cinematography.
Story Line:
Maari(Dhanush) grows up in a slum located in Chennai. He gets to love pigeons and eventually he becomes obsessed with pigeon races. This leads him get involved into dirty clashes.
Maari gives a tough fight and becomes a leader of that area. He rules the area and until one day, a police officer locks horns with him. The role of the officer is played by Vijay Yesudas. The movie flows with comedy and action frames.
Performances:
Maari the movie is character driven and hence Dhanush was expected to carry the entire movie, which he does. His body language, slang and dialogue delivery are so nice.
Kajal Aggarwal though played a limited role was gorgeous and beautiful. Vijay Yesudas was not so good at performance.
Keeping Dhanush aside, other major performance comes from the film's main comedian Robo Shankar.
Technical Aspects:
Screenplay by Balaji is okay okay. Narration and story stand weak. The weakest subject in Dhanush's career is Maari.
Cinematographer Om Prakash has managed to do a good job. Anirudh have given good tracks and BGM worked well.

The movie is nothing but a mediocre one. There is no typical Dhanush-mark. But its enjoyable for Dhanush's fans as he takes the whole movie on his shoulders. Kajal Agarwal Dhanush chemistry was worth watching. Dhanush's choice of project leaves the audience disappointed.
