Swathi Reddy, who is buoyed after the movies Swamy RaRa and Karthikeya is all on success track now. Naveen Chandra, the young hero who got a very good following with Andalarakshasi is the hero in the movie. Director Raaj Kiran and team, who already has dished out a comedy thriller like Geethanjali have made this movie Tripura. Amidst a lot of expectations, Tripura has hit the theaters today. Let us see how Tripura came out to be:
Story Line:
Tripura is a village girl who is haunted by weird dreams which eventually turn into reality. The villagers become keen about this unusual thing and this makes Tripura's father Sivanarayana, very anxious about her future. He gets worried that his daughter might not get married if so is the situation. He takes her daughter for treatment where Naveen is a doctor and they both fall for each other and get married.
They move into a house and they face very unusual things from then. Tripura dreams about some things that she starts getting worried what might happen to her husband. The twist in the tale comes when a female colleague who shares a close bond with Naveen disappears. What happens next is to be watched in theaters only!
Roles and Performances:
The movie mostly revolves around the role of Tripura. This is a naive kind of role Swathi has attempted till date. She appears so appealing in the role of a housewife. With her homely appearance and innocent looks Swathi steals the show. Swathi's attempt to perform in horror scenes also were well executed. She has given her best in showing many shades in this movie.
Naveen Chandra is apt in the role of a doctor. He looks smart and energetic. He has done a good job. Comedian Sapthagiri who appears in full-length in the movie is simply superb. All the scenes are hilarious and give to the audience rib-tickling laughs. Jayaprakash Reddy, Shakalaka Shankar also were quite funny. Other actors Rao Ramesh, Rajitha, Preethi Nigam, Siva Narayana justified their roles.
Technical Aspects:
Comedy thriller is the present hot trend that is going on in Tollywood. Tripura is one such attempt. There is a great blend of horror with comedy. Thrilling scenes are well executed. The First half goes on well. Kona Venkat's screenplay must be appreciated as the thriller scenes were the main essence for the movie.
But, in the second half, the story is dragged only on the basis of comedy which makes the narration strained. Kamran's music composing is not bad and BGM was appealing. Production values are very refined.
Filmy Buzz Review:
The movie has a different story line elevated with horror and comedy. Even though branded as a horror movie, there are no unnecessary scenes. Limited horror makes the movie watchable. Swathi who acted very well must have been involved in two or three more scenes. Finally, Tripura is a good family entertainer. Go and watch in theaters and have fun!
Verdict:
A lite feel comedy thriller. A different horror movie that is once worth watching.
