Continuing his career as a director, Maruthi Dasari is also testing his luck as a writer. After giving the script to a romantic comedy 'Brand Babu', ace director Maruthi penned an interesting script for a low budget movie, 'Bhale Manchi Chowka Beram'. Not only the title, but the trailer of the movie also succeeded in impressing the audience. Now, with the brand name of Maruthi, the movie made got a grand release them today. The expectations might be less on this film but Maruthi is a pro when it comes to comedy. Let's see the review of the movie:
Story:
Pardhu (Naveed) and Saleem ('Kerintha' fame Nooka Raju) are friends. They get duped by a Dubai visa broker and are forced to do various jobs in Hyderabad to earn a livelihood. Pardhu ends up as a van driver whereas Saleem gets the job as a courier boy. But a sudden twist in the story turns their lives upside down. By mistake, Saleem takes a wrong parcel from an ex-army man’s (Raja Ravindra) house. What is there in the parcel? How did that incident change the lives of them? Forms the crux of the story.
Performances:
Raja Ravindra delivered his career-best performance. He showcased his impressive acting skills. His ease of dialogue delivery and comedy timing are the things that grab the attention of the audience. His character evokes some good laughs. Especially, his performance in an emotional scene in the second half will definitely strike a chord with the audience.
'Kerintha' fame Nookaraju got a meaty and interesting role in this film as well. His funny performance and dialogue delivery can be considered as the plus points of the film. Naveed delivered a good performance. Looks wise, he is just average but proved his skills in acting. The lead actress Yamini Bhaskar also delivered a decent performance. Their chemistry is watchable. The rest of the cast members also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
The story is not strong but the execution is. Director Murali Krishna's narration is not annoying. He succeeded in narrating the weak story in an entertaining way. The audience connects well with the film because of the characterizations and genuine comedy. The second half is a thrilling and fun-filled ride.
It would have been better if the director added some comedy scenes in the first half. Though this is a low-budget flick, the production values by Satish Kumar are quite good. The music by Hari Gowra is average. There are no chartbuster songs but the background score is quite good. Bal Reddy cinematography is good. Editing by S. B Uddhav is clean. The runtime is crisp. Overall, the technical team did a great job.
Verdict:
More than the story, the entertainment and suspense in the film is what that catches the audience. The story is gripping and won't bore the audience at all. The chemistry between the leads worked out well. The first half is somewhat serious but the second half is complete fun on the whole, 'Bhale Manchi Chowka Beram' is a rollercoaster of fun and thrill with a patriotic touch.
If you want to watch an entertaining movie that also gives a thrilling ride, then 'Bhale Manchi Chowka Beram' will be the best pick.
