The disastrous result of NTR: Kathanayakudu has pushed its sequel Mahanayakdu under the radar. The makers who were shell shocked with the result of the first part, are now making some changes to the second installment in order to avoid yet another major disappointment.
Initially, Mahanayakudu was planned to be released on February 8. But the current re-work has been postponing its release. Meanwhile, there were many reports in media about its release mentioning various release dates but none were confirmed by the makers.
Finally, the latest we hear is the makers have decided to release the film on March 1st as a treat for Maha Sivaratri. A pre-release event will also be held in the meantime for which Vizag will be the venue. Kathanayakudu has incurred a loss of more than Rs, 50 crores to the distributors and hence, now the makers are selling the rights of Mahanayakudu for free to compensate for the losses.
Directed by Krish, this biopic featured an ensemble of the cast that includes Vidya Balan, Rana Daggubati and Sumanth. The music is composed by MM Keeravani and is produced by lead actor Balakrishna himself under his banner NBK Entertainments.
