Story: Dev (Karthikeya) loves Sneha (Jazba Singh). One day, he meets Sneha's friend Amuktamalyada (Digangana Suryavanshi) and immediately falls in love with her. He starts his trials woo her and after some drama Amuktamalyada also accept Dev's love.
But she keeps a condition that he should do whatever she asks. After few days, they get some misunderstandings in the relationship. What are they? What role Anand (JD Chakravarthy) played in this relationship? Did Dev and Amuktamalyada got back together? What happens in the end forms the rest of the story.
Performances: Karthikeya is definitely the show stealer for this film. The actor has improved a lot when compared to 'RX100' movie. Not only in terms of his looks but also when it comes to performances, Karthikeya has delivered an energetic and impressive performance. Digangana Suryavanshi is an absolute delight to watch. Though her character doesn't have much scope for performance, the actress has given her best and will definitely impress the audience. JD Chakravarthy played a crucial role in this movie and his energetic performance added more strength for the film. He delivered a stunning performance and has went under the skin of the character. MD Asif delivered a decent performance in the movie. Jazba Singh is pretty and promising in her role. Vennela Kishore got a meaty role in the film and has justified his character very well.
Technical Aspects: Director TN Krishna has prepared a simple story and laced it with all the commercial elements such as love, romance, comedy, entertainment, etc. The director has also added some bold sequences in the film but has handled them well. His pace of narration is also really good and he has also tried to deliver a good message through the film.
Production values by Kalaipuli S Thanu under V Creations banner are very high. Music by Nivas K Prasanna is amazing. Not only his excellent songs but also his wonderful background score has grabbed the attention of the audience. Cinematography by RD Rajasekhar is pretty much decent. He has produced some impressive visuals for the film and his camera angles are also really good. Editing by KL Praveen is clean.
Verdict: Just as the teaser and trailer have showcased, the movie has a bold story but is handled in a decent and impressive way. The movie starts off on an interesting note and the entire movie has equal amounts of comedy, romance, entertainment, and the action sequences are also presented well. Not only the characters but the story is also easily relatable to the youth which can be considered as one of the major plus points for this film.
The emotional scenes also make the audience connect well to the audience. The entire cast and crew have worked really hard and brought a good output for the film. Overall, 'Hippi' is a well-narrated entertaining and youthful film.
