It is already known that Alia Bhatt was supposed to work with maverick filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his directorial Inshallah. Unfortunately, that project has been shelved due to some unknown reasons. But apparently, Sanjay promised Alia that he will cast her in another film which will be based on the life of Mumbai based don, Gangu Bai.
According to the sources, Alia suggested her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor's name for the male lead in this film. When the actor heard the script, he turned down the offer as he felt that there is not much scope for his character in the movie. Thus, Sanjay is now looking for another lead actor.
Alia and Ranbir are dating since last one and half years and currently working on the fantasy thriller Brahmastra. Directed by Ayan Mukherjee, this movie will hit the screens during Summer 2020.
