Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas sat down with press on Wednesday, 22nd May to talk about his next release, Sita directed by Teja. Kajal Aggarwal is acting as the leading lady in the film.
Talking about not playing the titular role, he said, "I have been given two scripts by Teja sir. I chose Sita as I wanted to take up the different film. There was a commercial script and that impressed my father. But this one gave me a challenge."
He continued, "I knew Kajal would be playing the titular role and never had a problem with it. I was happy to see her play difficult portions very courageously."
He doesn't have a reputation as a good actor and he said that he wants to change it. "I don't want to be someone who can only do action and masala films. That is too restrictive. I can do better and I think I proved it with Sita," said the actor with glow and confidence brimming on his face.
He then talked about his experience of working with Teja. He said, "On the first day of my shoot, Teja sir gave a lengthy scene. I took it as a challenge even though I felt, "Why is he testing me on the first day?" I went to my van and got the monologue in the first take. Teja sir was impressed and stunned by me!"
He rubbished rumours of it being a remake of Teja's earlier film, Nijam and said that the script is fresh and it will provide an unique experience for sure. Movie is releasing on 24th May.
