Ram Gopal Varma with his direction supervision and writing has come up with a new political drama titled Amma Rajyam lo Kadapa Biddalu. The film made headlines before the release for the controversial stuff that it got. Now, the film is in the theatres and check out the below analysis for the review.
Story: The entire films run with the backdrop of politics in Andhra Pradesh state. The movie starts with the general elections in the state. What are the consequences that took place after the elections is the major plotline. The film revolves around a young politician, VS Jagannath Reddy (Ajmal Ahmad). How he became a politician? Did he become the Chief Minister? What happened next forms the crux of the story.
Performances: Ajmal Ameer is definitely the show stealer of this movie. The actor has gone under the skin of the character and delivered his best performance in the film. Dhanraj KV also acted well and his performance added more strength for the film. Dhananjay Prabhune is also apt for his role and has delivered and honest performance in the film. Ali and Brahmanandam did a good job and justified their roles completely. Mahesh Kathi and Swapna gave their 100% in justifying their roles. Dhanraj and Prithviraj also acted really well. Babu also made his presence felt. The rest of the actors also delivered decent performances in the film.
Technical Aspects: Ram Gopal Varma focused less on the storyline and more on violence and bloodshed. Director Siddharth Thatholu's narration fails to engage the audience. The director has come up with an interesting storyline for the movie but failed to execute it properly. He has succeeded in throwing light on some dark secrets of politics. Production values by Ajay Mysore and Ajay Mysore productions are average. Music by Ravi Shankar is outstanding. Though his songs are not that appealing, his BGM will get some extra brownie points for this film. Cinematographer Jagadeesh Cheekati did a good job and has produced some decent visuals for the movie. Editing by Anwar Ali is neat.
Verdict: Lack of a solid story will be the biggest minus point of this film. Director Siddharth Thatholu focused more on the unnecessary elevations for the hero which made the entire first half dull and boring. The slow narration will also irk the audience. The performances are the only good thing about the film but from screenplay to story execution, the film is very bad. The screenplay is also logicless and most of the satirical scenes are actually funny but leaves no impact. Also, the violence and the bloodshed in the film is very high. The second half is even more sluggish. Overall, 'Amma Rajyamlo Kadapa Biddalu' can be skipped.
