Performances: Suriya Siva Kumar is perfect as the police officer in the movie. As a powerful cop, he has given his best for the movie. He is a proven actor and has performed well in the movie. Suriya is at his usual best even in the emotional scenes. Mohanlal is playing the role of a Prime Minister in the movie. Mohanlal was seen graceful in the movie. As a Prime Minister, he is perfect and impressive. The chemistry between Suriya and Sayyesha is good. She looked glamorous and has played her part well. Arya also played a key role in the movie and impressed everyone. Samuthrakhani as Joseph is nice and made his presence felt.
Technical Aspects: MS Prabhu's camera work is impressive and would stand out as a major highlight in the movie. The action sequences are choreographed nicely. Harris Jayraj's background score helped the film a lot. The editing work is good and producers of Lyca Productions maintained the values well. The VFX work could have been better.
Verdict: The major plus point of the movie is the interval sequence that actually gives the scope for the thrilling content in the second half of the movie. The climax of the film was designed well and the chasing sequences are shot well. The film has got a good story but the way it is narrated could have been better. At times, the audiences feel that the story takes a side track. The second half of the movie is nice and director KV Anand could have designed a racy screenplay for the movie than slowing down the pace. The thrilling and suspense elements are abundant in the movie and entertain us well. Some of the scenes look dragged and it could have been avoided. The film is a decent action entertainer with a lot of thrilling elements. On the whole, Bandhobasth is a one-time watch thriller.
