Jamba Lakidi Pamba is a new film that released today in the theatres. The film stars comedian turned hero Srinivas Reddy in the lead role and he is expecting that the movie will become a big hit.
The film that is tipped to be a comedy capper is said to be the modern version of EVV Satyanarayana's hit movie with the same title. The film is not the remake but has the traces of the original.
A bunch of comedians has played the lead roles in this film and Siddhi Idnani is making her debut as a heroine with this film. The theatrical trailer has already impressed one and all and here is the review of the film.
Story: Varun (Srinivas Reddy) is a software engineer who is married to Pallavi (Siddhi) who works as a fashion designer. The disputes start growing in the marital life of the couple and both of them decide to get a divorce. They approach a lawyer Hari (Posani Krishna Murali) dies suddenly and goes to heaven.
He then returns to earth on a special mission of interchanging the gender of the couple. What happens then? How did Hari solve the issues of the couple? Did they retain their original gender? forms the story of the film.
Performances: Srinivas Reddy is impressive in his character and has performed very well. He has given his best and has entertained everyone with his unique characterization. Siddhi Idnani, the newcomer is a bit overboard but performed well.
Looks wise, she is not really impressive. Posani Krishna Murali, Vennela Kishore, Satyam Rajesh and other notable artists in the film have given their best in the comic roles. Everyone made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects: The film has cinematography by Satish Mutyala he impressed with his camera works. Editor Dhammi Raju's cuts are sharp and some unwanted scenes could have been chopped off for increasing the pace of the movie.
Rajeev Nair's art direction is impressive. Gopi Sundar provided decent background score but the songs failed to impress. The production values by Ravi, Jojo Jose, and Srinivas Reddy are good. The director J B Murali Krishna is impressive with writing.
Verdict: The film starts on an interesting note and turns out to be impressive when the couple interchanged their genders. The comedy scenes basing on the body's interchange is good but the scenes were dealt improperly. The film is based on the disputes that take place between the couple and how can be solved.
The film appears good in parts but there are more negative elements than positive elements in the film. Except for the performances and some comedy scenes, the film has nothing great to entertain the audiences.
On the whole, the film is a passable flick with some elements of comedy.
