Oka Manasu is probably one of the most talked about films in the recent past as it is a debut film of Konidela girl.
Directed by Ram Raju, the film marks the debut of the Mega princess Niharika. Naga Shourya paired opposite in this matured love story film which hit the screens today.
Let's see will Niharika make a mark with this film.
Story:
Surya (Naga Shaurya) leads his life with an ambition to become an MLA. Like a typical rural politician, he involves in settlements in Vizianagaram.
Sandhya (Niharika), who is an house surgeon in a government hospital, falls in love with Surya. It is a love story between a doctor and a politician. Though their ideologies and professions are completely different, they decided to live together.
Surya accepts a big settlement for money and this puts him deep problems. At this point, he has to face a biggest challenge in his life and situations demand him to choose between Sandhya and his father.
What is Surya's decision?. Whom did he select? Will their love story success? forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Debutante Niharika has done a neat job and she is suited in the role of doctor. For a debutant, she does put in a lot of efforts to give her best. However, a lot needs to be improved. But we are sure we will see her in more films in the future.
Naga Shaurya does what is required of his role perfectly. He was seen playing in the roles of lover boy in his previous movies and this time he got much scope for performance.
Shaurya mainly attracts with his performance in the second off. Rao Ramesh is yet another plus point for the film and does a splendid job as always. Avasarala Srinivas and Vennela Kishore are their usual self. Others played according to their roles.
Technical:
Sunil Kashyap’s music is melodious and background score is also impressive. The response to songs like Ninna lenantha and O manasa, was very good. The camera work is good and he captured the locations of Vizag and Araku beautifully. Editing could have been much more better. In fact, many scenes have dragged in the film.
Dialogues are lengthy and the lengthy conversations between the lead pair test the patience of the audience.
Plus Points : Niharika, Naga Shourya, Main Story, Climax, Background score
Minus Points : Weak screenplay, No commercial elements, Slow narration
Analysis : Oka Manasu is a poetic and mature love story. Ram Raju's poetic way of narration reminds us of the Maniratnam's films. However, it is tired and tested love genre. The director tried to engage the viewers with romance but the narration could have been more taut. A sagging story line and a flaccid screen play has hit the overall mood. The film also has some memorable dialogues but the lengthy conversations between the lead pair may not go well with the audience. Lack of regular commercial ingredients might disappoint the masses.
The way the story progresses in the first half is pretty bad but the pre-climax and climax scenes are worth watchful to watch.
On the whole, Oka Manasu is a decent launch pad for the Mega princess.
