There's a new movie in the town, and it is titled Rajugadu. Talented young hero Raj Tarun starrer Raju Gadu, directed by Sanjana Reddy, is hitting the theaters today on 1st June 2018. Recently during the media interaction, the makers expressed their confidence that the movie will become a big hit.
Amyra Dastur played the leading lady role in the film. Director Sanjana Reddy is a newcomer, and this is her debut movie. The film Raju Gadu is said to be a family entertainer movie that will appeal to all sections. The film has the runtime of 122 minutes. Raj Tarun is playing kleptomaniac for the first time in his career. Check out the review of the film here.
Story: Raju (Raj Tarun) suffers from a rare disease Kleptomania. Because of that, he does theft unknowingly, and it lands him in several situations. One day, he falls for Tanvi (Amyra Dastur) but hides his problem with her.
The parents of both accept for their wedding and Raju had to stay in Tanvi's home for ten days. This lands Raju in some uncertain situations and how did he escape from all of them forms the story of the movie.
Performances: Raj Tarun is known to be an energetic actor, but his energy is missing in the movie. The actor is seen dull in most of the scenes. He failed to bring out some entertainment through his character. Amyra Dastur has no scope for the performance in the movie. Her role has got no significance too.
The chemistry between the lead pair is unimpressive also. Rajendra Prasad impressed with his performance in the movie. Nagineedu, Rao Ramesh, Praveen, and others are good in their limited roles. The rest of the cast made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects: Maruthi's story is excellent. It has got an exciting element but the same excitement was not translated into the screenplay which is a drawback. The film is boring at times because of the same. The conversations penned by Veligondla Srinivas are good.
Rajasekhar B's camera work is excellent and he has given a required rich look for the movie. The editing by MR Varma is okay. The tunes scored by Gopi Sunder are not up to the mark but the background score of the movie is good and in sync with the film's flow. The artwork is good. The production values are rich.
Verdict: The film has a concept which is something along the lines of Bhale Bhale Magadivoi and Mahanubhavudu. The entertainment quotient in the movie is less when compared to the other movies. The way the director narrated the story is impressive but the required comic angle in the movie is completely missing.
Though the core point of the film is entertaining, the same did not happen for the entire movie. The conversations are flat and the romantic element in the movie was not executed properly. Except for some scenes here and there, the film lacks healthy entertainment that the story demands. On the whole, the movie neither impresses nor disappoints.
