We already know that Marathi movie Court is being nominated for the prestigious Oscar 2016 in the category of Foreign Language. And now it seems that another Indian movie have been listed in the race for The Oscar and that too a south Indian movie!!
"Care of Foothpath-2",a Kannada movie directed by the world's youngest director Kishan Shrikanth is in the race along with the Marathi movie "Court". This movie stars Bollywood's Eesha Deol, Avika Gor( Balika Vadhu or Chinnari Pellikuthuru fame) and others.
Veteran actress Hema Malini, Eesha's proud mother shared her excitement over the news that the movie in which her daughter had played a crucial role is being nominated for The Oscars.
The movie being a sequel for its first version Care Of Footpath(2006) is in the list of nominations and the director of the movie being the world's youngest one makes it even more special.
Hema Malini took her Twitter handle to express her joy as a mom. Her series of tweets go like this:
“Wonderful news which I must share with all of u! Esha's bilingual movie in Kannada & Hindi has made a lateral entry into the 2016 Oscars!
Premiere will be in LA, USA in Oct. before release in India. The movie will be released in Hollywood style with a lot of fanfare!
All India release in Nov. Esha plays the role of Meera, a bold advocate fighting for justice.1st time a Kannada film has won an Oscar entry!”
