Q: Though you personally were identified well, Mukunda did not do so well at the box office. What was your family's response?
A: Obviously they encouraged me to work harder. They gave a very genuine feedback and necessary suggestions. Chiranjeevi garu complimented me for my dance.
Q: How did you manage to bag Kanche?
A: I am one of the biggest fans of Krish. Krish and me share a good relationship. He had promised me long before that he would do a project with me. Kanche is the result.
Q: About your role in Kanche?
A: I have played the role named Dhoopati Hari Babu. I am a soldier who participated in the world war II. I had a lot of scope to learn things and I can assure I am a lot more than what I began with, today.
Q: Playing the role of a soldier is like what for you? And it is a 1940's story. How did you make it work out?
A: From the accent, till my expressions I had to practice and learn many things. I had to undergo some coaching sessions. I used to sit down and watch war sequences of Hollywood movies to get the gestures of the soldiers. Krish helped me a lot and he is perfect in extraction of what he wants.
Q: How was it working for Kanche?
A: It was a very difficult job for me. To shoot war sequences is a very tough task. I had to use some real war weapons. The pre-production team was excellent must say. This journey taught me many things. The filming part was quite tough as we shot a number of days for the war sequence. Some real life weapons were used and everything went on well because of the superb pre-production and team work.
Q: Any memories during the shoot of Kanche?
A: We had to shoot some parts of the movie in Georgia. We were a small team from Hyderabad who went there for the shoot. We had to share things and help each other. Even during the makeup sessions, we had to help each other. Those days were quite memorable.
Q: About Krish?
A: He is damn passionate about movies. He is such a workaholic. I learnt a lot of things from him. It was such a nice time working with him.
Q: Nithin was supposed to do the movie Loafer right? How come you grabbed that opportunity?
A: I wasn't aware of it too. It was when I was in the sets of Kanche that Puri narrated me the script and I was okay with the script. I took a word from Nithin before even giving a nod to Puri. I share a kind of rapport with Nithin. Another thing everyone need to know is, Nithin's Heart Attack was initially for me.
Q: Was it shocking when Niharika opened up about her interest in acting?
A: We were very sure this girl would enter into this. She managed to earn quite a good following and seeing that, we had a guess that this might happen. It wasn't like a sudden decision that she had taken. There were discussions going on in the family from quite a long time. I wish she succeeds and I would do anything to support her.
Q: Finally, all you want to tell about Kanche?
A: Kanche will become a very unique and fantastic movie in Tollywood. The visuals give you congenial and realistic appeal. The core point of the story will be a very hard-hitting one. I am satisfied with my performance in this flick. I am sure the viewers are going to like it.
