With his cute cute smiles, Akhil already booked a place in the hearts of thousands from the very first movie (SISINDRI) itself. Now that he is all grown, he gave a buzzing entry through MANAM and stole the hearts of everyone. Akhil is all set for his grand launch into the movies through the flick AKHIL -The Power Of Jua.
Here is an interview we have caught up with this Akkineni hero. Take a look:
Q: How was it like when Akhil got postponed?
A: I was literally strained. The postponement was not expected. I was disappointed initially but, convinced myself that quality is one of the things that we should never compromise with. Even big movies like Baahubali were postponed and the only reason behind that was not settling about the quality. I even had a solid support from Nithin and Vinayak garu. I hope my fans also will understand the point why the movie got postponed.
Q: It was in news that you had differences with your dad regarding the postponement. What do you have to tell about this?
A: I read some of the articles too. Why would I get disappointed with my dad? I actually thanked my dad for being so supportive.
Q: We came to know that you went unconscious during the shoot?
A: Yes. I was on a diet and I had been under a lot of physical and mental strain. I some how skipped taking the right amount of liquids too. I just felt giddy that's it. I know my parents would get panicked. So, I told them about this after a couple of days.
Q: About your role in Akhil?
A: I am going to appear like a typical VV Vinayak's brand hero. We have combined the movie with all the entertainment elements.
Q: For your first movie as a hero, expecting for a very lavish intro song is common. How is that gonna be?
A: The run-time of the intro song is 5 minutes roughly. This is the song that is going to launch me as a hero. So, it is made with a grandeur. Johnny master has choreographed me with intense steps. We shot for 12 days for this song. We had to work for nearly 17-18 hours per day. I normally love Chiranjeevi garu's and Prabhu deva garu's dance.
Q: A few words about AKhil?
A: I never expected that I would get launched with a story of this kind. When Nithin and Vinay sir narrated this story to me, I had a strong belief on them. I spoke to dad and he made everything happen. The Power of Jua means the power of the sun. I can assure that this is a very different and naive kinda movie. We shot for 60 days in foreign locations. I love intense action movies. Therefore, I enjoyed all the action sequences and we tried underwater stunts, panther fight, a stunt on the plane.
Q: What influence do you have from your parents and family?
A: I grew up watching the movies of my dad. Of course, I am totally influenced by my dad. Normally, dad and me make any kind of decisions while my mom gives suggestions . Mom loves dance and she encouraged me a lot. My grandpa's whole life is a lesson for me. I really cannot express what impact he has left over upon me. He is such a legendary man.
Q: What are your plans for the coming years in the industry? Any lessons learned?
A: I am not behind any kind of image right now. That is why I have opted out for such a project. I am in a very tender stage and my establishment should be a slow and steady one. I want to make movies by taking long gaps. Telugu industry is my home and I need to settle down here first. I will be thinking of making movies in the other languages later. But, at present my whole concentration is Telugu. I used to laugh off as soon as I see Bramhanandam sir. I think I need to learn to perform better comedy.
Q: What kind of stories are you looking forward to?
A: I have not limited myself to any kind of stuff. I am ready to do any kind of roles. I would be glad to act in experimental movies. I will try to entertain people rather than proving myself. That will make me a better actor I hope. I also am interested in multistarer movies too. If the other hero is ready to team up with me, I am double if it is an authentic movie. It increases the market standards. But, my only strategy is to give a quality output.
Q: About Nithin?
A: Best supporter till date is Nithin. Nithin's dad is the backbone for this flick. Nithin is more like a friend to me. He never made me realize that he was producing for my movie.
Q: What about your movie with Trivikram?
A: I was supposed to debut with Trivikram. But, I had no clarity what and how to do by then.
Q: About the heroine?
A: She is an excellent dancer. She gave me a very strong competition. She knows well how to focus a camera. She is really really talented.
Q: What about the overseas promotion for Akhil?
A: US market is considered very important in recent days. So, it was happy meeting people there. I was received very well.
