After a hat-trick success with the movies Swami Rara, Karthikeya and Surya vs Surya Nikhil Sidhdharth is on full swing and his movie Shankarabharanam came up with high expectations. Under the direction of Uday Nandanavanam, Kona Venkat has penned the story, dialogues, screenplay for this movie.
Nikhil has played the role of Gautham. Gautham is a cool NRI who spends his luxurious life in the US. Gautham's dad Raghu(Suman) gets ditched by his business partners and becomes bankrupt. Raghu attempts to kill himself as he has neck-deep problems. Gautham somehow stops his father from killing himself. Gautham's mom (Sithara) who gets worried about their financial issues, decides to sell off her Palace "Shankarabharanam" in Bihar. to sell the Palace Gautham Comes to Bihar.
Gautham's mom Rajjodevi's brother Badri Nath Tagore(Rao Ramesh) and family live in the palace. Badri Nath hates Rajjodevi as she had eloped with her love interest and settled down. How will Gautham solve his family's financial issues? will he sell Palace... What happened next is to be watched in the theaters only.
Roles and Performances:
Nikhil has done a decent job in the role if an NRI. He had no many dialogues and for typicality, the dialogues are mostly in English as he is an NRI. He has carried his role very well with a stylish accent and appeal. He has done his best in the limited scope he had.
Sampath Raj, Sujay Mishra, Pintubash Tripathi have played their own roles well. Anjali performed very well in the role of a female villain. Nandita's role was okay. Suman, Sithara, Rao Ramesh etc. have justified their roles well. Sapthagiri's comedy was a rib-tickling one. Pridhvi, Shakalaka Shankar and the other comedians were very funny and worth watching.
Kona Venkat has penned this story. He took the rights of Bollywood movie Phass Gayare Obama. But there is nothing that matches both the movies. Kona totally changed the Script. Kidnap Backdrop of Bihar elevated in Story. Direction wise it is good. Music was okay okay. Production values are decent.
Filmy Buzz review:
There is nothing in sync with the title of the movie. Shankarabharanam is an epic musical movie which was made by the legend K Vishwanath. This Shankarabharanam is in absolute contrast with that movie.
Whole backdrop being Bihari, there is no match with the title. There are no proper points that show elevation at peaks. There is a lot of distraction in the dialogues too. Commedy Scenes, Some Punch Dialogues makes audience Laugh. Lag in the narration and absence of a strong point Makes Audience disappoint.
Verdict: Boring movie with no strong elevation.
