Escalated as a very talented actor with the very first two movies, Varun Tej is on full swing now. Buoyed by the role he played in the movie Kanche directed by Krish, Varun came up with an ultimate commercial movie. Puri Jagannath who is well known for his commercial movies has done the directorial part for this flick. Being titled with such a thug appeal, let us see how the movie is:
Lakshmi ( the role played by Revathi ) leaves behind everything to live with her love of life. She later realizes that the person she loves is a tough guy. Posani Krishna Murali played the role of the husband opposite Revathi. She the decides to part from him and bring her child up as per her nature. But her husband takes their son Raja (Varun Tej) away from her and brings him up like a loafer. They start their life in Jodhpur.
Raja grows up with a belief that his mother died of jaundice. Disha Patani has played the role of Parijatham who runs away from home as she dislikes being married to the person their family wanted her to. Posani snatches away Parijatham's mobile phone and Raja robs her bag too. Eventually, Raja and Parijatham fall for each other and love blossoms.
How the son and mother unite, what happens to the love story of Raja and Parijatham are to be watched in theaters only.
Roles and Performances
Varun Tej the young Mega hero attempted to act in a commercial project for the first time, proved that he has that prowess in him. He lived up to the expectations in sentimental scenes. Being quirky in the action sequences, Varun Tej is to captivate the mass audience. It is for sure this Mega hero is to rule the hearts of thousands in near future.
Disha Patani looks attractive. The chemistry between Varun and Disha have worked out well.
Revathi the senior actress who have played the mother's role have done an excellent job. Her sentimental kink did work out well. The frames featuring the sentiment are too good. She is apt for the role of Varun Tej's mother in this flick.
Posani Krishna Murali also justified the role well. Mukesh Rishi, Ali, Bramhanandam, Dhanraj, Sapthagiri etc also justified their roles well.
Puri Jagannath's movies these days lacked that sentiment which he used to shuffle with commercial elements earlier. We can say that after Amma Nanna O Tamilammay this movie has touched the sentimental elements.
One thing that is unanimously accepted is that, Puri got succeeded by 100% in establishing Varun Tej as a commercial hero. For this, he has to be appreciated.
Songs are okay and mother sentimental song Suvvalamma is too good. Hero's intro song also is good. Production values also are decent.
Varun Tej who is badged as a hero who makes experimental movies has proved that he is also capable of doing full too commercial movies. Even though it is a typical movie from Puri's factory, it is a naive one for the hero. The interval bang somewhere resembles Pokiri.
Varun Tej has done a fantastic job and it is sure that he is gonna attract the mass audience. Puri must be appreciated for his attempt to mingle commercial elements with the sentiment. Revathi's role is so captivating and it is for sure that her screen presence is one of the best ingredients of this movie.
Revathi's role and her screen presence.
Varun Tej's action in mass elevated scenes.
Well written dialogues.
Same old taking and routine storyline.
Weak comedy despite the presence of star comedians.
Verdict: Pakka Commercial movie for Varun Tej. Sentimental Mass movie.
