Low budget movies are on full swing in the industry right now. Being made in four languages at a time, "RED ALERT" hit the theaters today. This movie Red Alert which was released in Kannada and Malayalam already is running successfully and hope the same happens with Telugu and Tamil versions.
The story is fabricated upon terrorism backdrop. A group of terrorists make a ploy to create chaos in Hyderabad and opt Ganesh Nimarjan as the proper time for attacks.
Mahadev, Ravi, Amar, Teja are childhood friends and they bring in another person named Sree ram into their gang who is an orphan. They grow up together and Sree Ram turns crime reporter. He starts working for a TV channel in Hyderabad. And the other friends who live in Vizag visit Hyderabad on the occasion of Ganesh Nimarjan.
Mahadev who is supposed to receive his friends, does not turn up and passes a message that he would return from Pune in 3 days. So, the friends plan to stay at a hotel and eventually end up getting involved into a very serious problem. They find a dead body at the hotel and they get panicked.
Finally they get to know that the dead body was their own friend Sree Ram's. Who killed Sree Ram? What are the terrorists up to? Go watch in theaters!
Roles and Performances:
Mahadev, Ravi, Amar, Tej are the main characters in the movie. Mahadev has a crucial role and he gave his best. Even though it is a debut, he managed to do well. Mahadev has danced very well for the mass beats. There is no matured appeal in his face. But, as of now his performance is justified.
Ravi, Amar, Teja have done their parts well. Anjana Menon in the role of DCP Bhuvaneswari have done a decent job and looks apt. Her physique is quite appealing in the role of a police officer. Suman, Posani, Ali, Bhagyaraj, Ravi Prakash, Jogi Naidu, Krishnam Raju etc have justified their roles well.
Story is well narrated. There are many streaks that make the story quite interesting. Director Chandra Mahesh ably managed to dish out the elements he wanted to. The suspense which was maintained well from the start to the end is a plus. Thrilling climax is one of the best concepts. Music by Ravi Varma was good. BGM was fine. Camera work was decent. Sree Ram Chowdary's dialogues and script are good.
Without unnecessary hype and grandeur, the movie is decently worked out. Production values are fine. It is always a herculean task to make a low budget movie on a single line of story. The narration worked well. Yes, there are scenes that do not sync along. But, covered with the comedy and thrill elements. Ali and Posani's comedy somewhere appeared a little lengthy. Screen play makes the movie interesting.
Finally, the main assets for the movie are : Short run-time, suspense well maintained till the end. With a simple budget, a story elevated with thrill came out well.
Verdict: Once watchable.
